With a pen in one hand and a steaming mug in the other, I’ve built a life around words and caffeine. My bookshelves groan under the weight of historical tomes, my garden flourishes despite the Pacific Northwest drizzle, and my combat boots have been traded for the occasional pedicure chair. When the clouds part, you’ll find me on the Harley, chasing sunshine between research sessions on forgotten legends.

I’ve spent my academic life chasing whispers through time—the myths and legends that began as stories told around fires, passed from grandmother to child, evolving with each retelling. These tales traveled across continents, survived conquests and migrations, until they reached us, transformed yet recognizable. When I trace their journey backward, I’m searching for the kernels of truth buried beneath centuries of embellishment—trying to understand both our ancestors and ourselves through the stories that survived them.

After dedicating more than two decades to the U.S. Army, I redirected my focus and ambition toward sharing these stories with you. My experiences traveling around the world have taught me something invaluable: a connection exists between all cultures and their myths, and all you have to do is take a moment to find the link.

Come along for the ride—I guarantee unexpected detours, hairpin bends, and plenty of exhilaration along the way. My blog archives are packed with historical gems spanning from the American Revolution’s untold stories to the mischievous gods of ancient pantheons.

Keep Reading & Stay Caffeinated
